- What is CatalogAIQ?
- CatalogAIQ is a Shopify app that scores and improves how ready your catalog is for AI shoppers. It scans every product, shows your AI Readiness Score, and helps you fix the listings AI agents cannot understand with AI assisted rewrites, attributes, alt text, and images, saved directly to your products inside Shopify Admin.
- What is the AI Readiness Score?
- A 0 to 100 score for how well AI shopping assistants can read your products, shown per product and as a store average with a distribution. It comes from deterministic, published checks for titles, descriptions, specs, category, structured attributes, and feed blockers. The score is free on every plan from a basic scan; the AI fixes use your included AI images.
- Is the basic catalog scan free?
- Every plan includes unlimited basic catalog scans at no extra cost, including Free. Optional AI catalog scans, listing rewrites, and AI image generation use your included AI images.
- What uses your AI images?
- 1 AI image of allowance = 1 generated product image, OR 1 listing rewrite, OR up to 10 product images checked in an optional AI catalog scan. Basic catalog scans never use allowance and are unlimited on every plan.
- How much does each action cost?
- For AI image generation, 1 AI image produces 1 variation (you can request 1 to 5 per generate; each variation uses 1 AI image). A listing rewrite uses 1 AI image. For optional AI catalog scans, 1 AI image covers up to 10 product images successfully analyzed. Basic catalog scans never use allowance and are unlimited on every plan.
- How many AI images do I get on the Free plan?
- New installs on the Free plan receive 10 one-time sample images. Use them on AI images, listing rewrites, or an optional AI scan. When they run out, upgrade to a paid plan for monthly included images.
- What happens when monthly included images run out?
- On paid plans, additional AI images are billed at $0.12 to $0.20 each through Shopify at the end of the billing cycle. Unlimited basic scans remain included. Your subscription price does not change; only the extra images are charged at the usage rate.
- What does "Extra AI images" at $0.12 to $0.20 mean on Shopify's pricing page?
- Paid plans have a fixed monthly subscription plus included AI images each billing cycle. On Shopify's plan page, "Extra AI images" at $0.12 to $0.20 is the rate for usage beyond that included pool. You are not charged $0.12 to $0.20 for every image while included images remain. Shopify's cost estimator slider adds hypothetical usage on top of your subscription. A high slider value shows heavy AI use, not a typical bill. Example: Starter is $9.99/mo with 90 included AI images (~$0.11 each on included allowance). If you use 110 AI images that month, overage is about 20 images at $0.20 each ($4.00), so roughly $14 total before Shopify processing fees.
- What resolution does AI generation use?
- All plans generate AI images at 2048×2048 px. Output resolution does not change by plan. Plans differ by included AI images; basic scans are unlimited on every plan.
- What issues does a scan detect?
- Basic scan checks missing or broken images, resolution and aspect ratio, gallery coverage, variant and featured media setup, alt text quality, duplicate gallery files, and oversized uploads. Optional AI scan adds wrong product, multiple products in frame, crop and framing, packaging-only shots, backgrounds, text overlays, watermarks, blur, compression artifacts, lighting, and lifestyle scenes.
- Do I need design or photo editing skills?
- No. CatalogAIQ builds prompts from your product data, generates variations for you, and uploads the image you choose straight to Shopify.
- Where does the app run?
- CatalogAIQ is embedded in Shopify Admin. Install from the Shopify App Store, then open it from your admin navigation like any other app.
- How do I change my plan?
- Open CatalogAIQ, go to Billing, and choose or change your plan on Shopify's hosted pricing page. Plan changes are managed by Shopify billing.
